Sanoplant was initially used in the renovation one of the greens, to compare with the other greens. Probes were set into the profile, to measure moisture and temperature and send the data to a computer. In this way we could measure when the moisture % in the root zone dropped below a point where irrigation was necessary. Results showed that it was possible to extend watering intervals significantly, encouraging deep root growth and saving irrigation and hence reducing leaching of nutrients.
